Life Got Just a Liiiiiiittle Busy

Hey y'all, Steve and Anna here.

We back again, like we never left. But we did, and we know our absence was hurtful! I mean, what are you all to do without more posts to read?? Beats us, we've got no clue. So, without any further ado, let's dive into where the hell we've been!

Well, you see that's a tricky question, and definitely one that will be answered over several posts and between many naps, tea breaks, and complaining hours as we fight off yet another wicked set of cold viruses. They're brutal over here, that's for sure.

(the changing seasons, right outside our window!)

Last that all of you had heard, we'd been to Oslo!!! But that was two months ago...time flies, eh? You're telling us, we're the ones not fully realising that we leave in a week to come back to Canada. That, in it of itself, is such a weird concept to consider. How has it already been nearly five months? I still remember going home for a needed break in June, visiting friends while we packed, and even complaining to some of you of how badly the visa process was going like it was only last week! I cannot believe that time has been cruel enough to fly by at the speed of light, and yet, here we are. Emotional, stressed, sad, even more stressed, and unfortunately, dreading this amazing journey's end. Sincerely, this end has caught up to us so fast that we've hardly had time to do things we never could.

What then, you may ask, is left for us during our time here? Well thanks for asking, I'd reply, grabbing a long list of paper and rambling to you for hours about how much cleaning we have left, or how little packing we've done, or all the precautions we've ensured for our flights home, or ranting about how we're still unsure of what to do with some of the stuff we've purchased here. Honestly, what the heck are we to do with the couch we bought (I regret nothing and fully support the purchase, and would do it again in a heartbeat)? But in all seriousness, we've just enough time to pack and clean before a great friend of ours from Victoria comes to celebrate our last few days here before we head home, and they head to Germany for a wicked Christmas abroad.

So that's that! Just a short little update while I've found a little energy. My cold is *knocks on wood* hopefully on the downturn, but Anna is just beginning the worst of it, so she's napping here beside me, typing with me in spirit. Over the next few days, I would love to get a few more posts out if possible. I know several people have been waiting for an update on a few trips and visits that occurred, and those are coming, I promise. The posts that we've got left to make: Anna's mom's visit; Vaani and Kojel's visit; life in October (maybe...might skip this one); THE GREAT UK ADVENTURE feat. Preet and Haggis; The Steady Stream of Goodbyes; The End of the Croc Cult; How exams went; Life in Bergen in December; A Snow and Christmas Market Update; and finally, The Adventure Ends.

Lots of typing to do, and obviously, this will not all get done before we are home. We plan on updating this blog until everything is put in place, and we'll advertise the last post and when the blog is complete. Nothing will likely be posted (except for maybe pictures) after the last post, except HOPEFULLY, a post at the five-year reunion in the summer of 2027, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Cheers for now then, thanks for following along and sincerely, we apologise for not updating this as regularly as we would have hoped for. All will be explained in the coming weeks. For now, enjoy some pictures and hopefully you had some fun reading this post. I like to keep my posts similar to a conversation instead of just a story for you to read. Hopefully you all appreciate that :) Ha det bra!

P.S. Seriously, I do promise this, more posts will come. When you ask? Soon...very soon.

  1. Hi Stephen and Anna! Now you know that it has to be Gramma to call you Stephen! I am so glad you two have had the adventure of a lifetime but now it is time to come home as I have so many hugs waiting and anxious to hear more about your trips. Everyone has been decorating up a storm for Christmas and "shopping" for just that right gift. The stockings are hung so hurry home as soon and safely as you can.
    Much love, Gramma
